Its very clear that if you have ever seen a turtle or a picture of one the number one thing that stands out to you would be its rock hard shell (and the turtle’s Plastron which is another shell under it),
The shell is a bone that protects itself from predators. When the turtle feels Threatened or endangered he will take his whole body into his rock hard shell.
These creatures are amazing but most of the species of turtles are endangered
Turtles are awesome creatures but many turtle species are endangered and the main reason why is usually because of humans.
Humans do this by putting roads / Building homes on top of turtle eggs and nesting areas, taking away their home to build new things (habitat) but the most effective is littering and pollution.
Although humans are a big threat to them, we also help them by cleaning up trash, giving warning signs of nesting areas, and even picking up trash!
